We rented out the Hill House in Gainesville, TX to spend the whole night. We’ve already been a few times but it was always as a part of a larger group and we never stayed the entire night. It was 4 of us. Our friends, Melissa and Stephanie, that we met during earlier ghost hunts decided to join us.
We arrived around 7pm, after stopping to pick up some tacos, and started setting up. We weren’t there but a few minutes and the lights started going a little wonky. The kitchen lights burned out….something that can happen at any house but when you are walking around a haunted house it does make you jump. The light in the living room wasn’t working until I walked under it and then it all of a sudden turned on, which also gave me a little jump. yeah I know, an old house with electric problems. I often say that ghost hunting is like sitting around a campfire telling scary tales, and then hearing a twig break and everyone jumps.
The weather was perfect for us! It just started to rain as we arrived and stormed pretty much through the night. There are not a lot of things creepier than an old crickety house in a thunderstorm. It was perfect!
Drew and I were dressed in our ghost buddy t-shirts!
This photo is from the kitchen where there there is a lot of claimed activity. Both of our previous times to the house, some people ran from the house after hanging out in this room. We did have some activity with the music box, the cat balls, and the EMF meters going off regularly for about a 10 minute period. We were told his name was Robert 3 times on the Ovulus which was also weird because it doesn’t often repeat the names twice let alone 3 times.
Here’s Drew hanging out down in the well room. At one point, the owners found that there was a well underneath one of the rooms in the house. If I ever figure out how to do a slide show of pictures I’ll add more pictures here to show the whole room.
This is a room downstairs called the murder room because, you guessed it, supposedly there was a murder here. I’ve been in this room before where there was a lot of motion lights going off but for us, alone, there was nothing to note here other than I got a video of us scaring Drew. haha! I’ll add it to the end.
This room is the children’s room. We had quite a bit of activity in here too. In the baby bed, we put a cat ball motion detecter and had a music box nearby. The cat ball kept going off although no one was nearby and then the music box would periodically start playing. At one point, I was taking a video of the cat ball and another catball started rolling across the floor towards me. I didn’t capture the video because as it was happening, I just thought it was because I stepped on the floor and caused it to roll. Maybe I did but what was weird was that it rolled towards me and then went completely around me. You can hear it roll in the video.
