About 5 years ago we decided to get a cockatiel. Drew said he wanted one and I had birds as a kid so I thought “what the heck”. We found our first bird Ziggy, who was hand-held before we received him. It was instant love for Drew.
We soon learned that Ziggy was quite talented. He was only a few months old before he started whistling the tequila song but what the big surprise was when he actually said “tequila” at the end of the song. Not long after that, I was in the room sweeping and I heard a “whatcha doing” from Ziggy’s cage. I started laughing as he kept asking me.
Here is a list of his current talents:
- Tequila (whistles and talks)
- Another One bites the dust (whistles)
- Pink Panther (whistles)
- Whatcha Doing (talks)
- Peek A Boo ( talks)
- You’re a pretty bird (talks)
- Sexy Whistle (whistle)
Not long after we bought Ziggy, Drew talked me into a budgie. The budgie was not tame when we got it but Drew quickly tamed him We named the bird Dallas. We only had Dallas for about a year before he was injured in a flying accident and we lost him. Drew was pretty devastated.
We did eventually add another cockatiel named Grace and a Budgie named Zoey. I have been able to stop with three. Drew takes total care of his birds, he sits with them, talks to them, let’s them fly. He cleans their cages and tries to clean the rest of the room however I need to help with that occasionally.
This is Drew and Ziggy. Ziggy first says “you’re a pretty bird” and then say’s “watcha doing” before whistling pink panther.
This is Gracie checking out her new bath.
This is Zoey!
This is Drew and his bird Dallas (RIP) We miss Dallas!
