Putting Drew’s Paintings on Products
How it started
I started playing with the idea of putting Drew’s paintings on products after making a bunch of mugs to give out at one of his birthday parties. To my surprise, everyone loved them! These items turned out to be fun gifts for my family, and I even kept some for myself. It’s a bit sad to see one of his paintings go, but it allows me to keep a piece of his art with me.
The Challenge of Dropshipping
The challenge I have faced is the lack of time and money to do it locally and send the products myself. It didn’t seem a viable option for us. That’s when I discovered dropshipping. Through trial and error, I have learned a few things about this process. It can be a nightmare to keep the integration between WordPress and the dropshipping companies in sync without it becoming labor-intensive.
One of the main challenges is finding reliable dropshipping partners. The quality of some companies’ products can be terrible, so I have been continuously ordering and testing different options. It’s been quite a journey, and I plan on sharing more about it in a blog or something similar.
The dropshipping company that has been easiest to work with only recently started doing pop-up stores for those who don’t want to create a website. The fact that they are so new, does not allow me to categorize products outside of the way they have them categorized so I find it hard to provide a selection that is easy to navigate through. However, I think it’s the best option for the current status of this journey.
